Marcela is an active member in her community. She is a board member for a non-profit organization: Miracles for Families. An organization that encourages families to communicate in a healthy, loving manner so children can grow up in strong and stable families. She had the privilege to participate in the mentorship program at the Friendship Shelter in Laguna Beach. At the Friendship Shelter, she had the opportunity to mentor several individuals with the objective to help them attain personal goals as well as encourage the importance of a natural lifestyle. Marcela is a regular participant of wellness and holistic forums and speaks regularly at local events.

Nicole T. Smith, LAc.
Nicole Smith is passionate about her industry. She is an Acupunturist, author and speaker. She has a B.A. in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine. She is Board-Certified in the state of California and nationally through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture. In additional, Nicole has earned training in nutrition, sports medicine, internal medicine, and degenerative disease, specializing in stubborn fat loss, pain, and chronic cases.
Her experience includes 20 years in the medical field including sports medicine, nutrition, acupuncture, cleansing, detoxification, lifestyle modification, and internal medicine. Dr. Hanna’s love for her work and her patients is evident in her caring, tender touch. Stephany Tritt, PT, DPT has her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and has been practicing for over ten years, specializing in Pain Management and Pelvic Floor/Women’s Health. She has treated patients with complicated diagnoses such as Fibromyalgia and Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome to Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Pain. She understands that continuing education is imperative and therefore regularly attends courses to expand her knowledge base. Michael Funk, 57, has been involved with promoting and distributing organic foods for over 35 years. As one of the key pioneers of the natural food industry, he founded Mountain Peoples Warehouse in 1976 and built his company into the leading natural food wholesaler in the Western region. In 1996, he co-founded and took public United Natural Foods (Nasdaq: UNFI) to form a natural food distributor that he led to become the largest in the world.
As President and CEO of UNFI, Funk grew the company at an average growth rate of 20% per year, and he stepped down as CEO in 2008. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for UNFI and remains active in the strategic management of the company. UNFI currently has annual sales of 5 billion dollars.
Michael Funk is a board member of numerous non-profit groups, including serving as Board President of The Non-Gmo Project. Funk co-founded and serves as a director of The Organic Center, a non-profit dedicated to scientific research on organic food. In early 2010, Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture, selected Funk to represent the organic and non-gmo perspective on the USDA’s Advisory Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture.
Funk lives with his family in a solar-powered home along the Yuba River, in Nevada City, California. As past President of Syrcl, the South Yuba River Citizen’s League, he continues to be active in the restoration of native salmon runs to the Yuba River. The Organic Trade Association recently recognized Funk by awarding him their highest honor, The 2011 Leadership Award for Growing the Organic Industry.
With her wealth of knowledge and compassion for animals, Susan Blake Davis, Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) will help you discover new insights into holistic pet care. Susan can provide you with a unique and new perspective that will complement the care you are receiving from your veterinarian. She is on staff at VCA Arroyo Animal Hospital in Lake Forest, CA and works in conjunction with many veterinarians, in particular oncologists at VCA All Care and the Veterinary Cancer Group.
Susan is a strong advocate of using whole, natural foods to nourish and strengthen a pet’s overall health. She will develop a custom-tailored diet for each pet rather than giving a “canned” recipe as every pet’s condition is a little bit different.
Prior to becoming a pet nutritionist, Susan gained valuable experience volunteering her time in animal rescue. She is the founder of Ariel Rescue, a 501(c) (3) public charity dedicated to saving the lives of shelter dogs in impoverished communities. Many of these animals were severely malnourished and sick but Susan saw their potential, and working with local veterinarians, restored them to good health. Susan Davis graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with highest honors from the University of California at Davis. She then went on to attain a Master’s Degree in Social Psychology and an MBA from UCLA.
