Marcela Owen

Marcela Owen is the proud founder of Women for Natural Living.com. She is an entrepreneur, author, philanthropist and an advocate of healthy, balanced living. As the author of her book: Nourish earth, body, soul; she has established herself as a trusted advisor in living a healthy lifestyle and believing  that ultimate good health is achieved by connecting your inner and outer worlds. For over 20 years she has been heavily involved in holistic living, finding ways to stay fit in a busy lifestyle and sharing her natural anti-aging secrets with women all over the world.

Marcela is an active member in her community. She is a board member for a non-profit organization: Miracles for Families. An organization that encourages families to communicate in a healthy, loving manner so children can grow up in strong and stable families. She had the privilege to participate in the mentorship program at the Friendship Shelter in Laguna Beach. At the Friendship Shelter, she had the opportunity to mentor several individuals with the objective to help them attain personal goals as well as encourage the importance of a natural lifestyle.  Marcela is a regular participant of wellness and holistic forums and speaks regularly at local events.

Her advocacy involves bringing awareness to all women interested in taking a holistic approach to life and to provide as much guidance and motivation to achieve healthy living. She wants to share her passion for and strong belief in the positive impact that a healthy lifestyle can make in your life.

Nicole Smitth

Nicole T. Smith, LAc.

Nicole Smith is passionate about her industry.  She is an Acupunturist, author and speaker. She has a B.A. in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine.  She is Board-Certified in the state of California and nationally through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture.  In additional, Nicole has earned training in nutrition, sports medicine, internal medicine, and degenerative disease, specializing in stubborn fat loss, pain, and chronic cases.

Her experience includes 20 years in the medical field including sports medicine, nutrition, acupuncture, cleansing, detoxification, lifestyle modification, and internal medicine. She is the author of several books, including, Skinny Genes – Generate Your Gene Power, Lose the Fat, and Face the Fats – Lose 9lbs in 9 Days through effective cleansing.

She is the devout owner of The Pampered Porcupine Acupuncture, Inc.  “Get Quills, Not Pills”, a clinic in practice for 7 years and the founder of Skinny Genes™, the world’s first comprehensive online, holistic, and organic weight loss program based on her popular book.

Nicole has participated in a myriad of speaking engagements, some of which include: Transforming Health with Brad King, Acupuncture Power Hour, Passionate Voices Internet Radio, Holistic Health Success TV show, as well as teaching classes, speaking at private engagements, Mother’s Market events, and appearing in public venues for her speeches and presentations on various timely health topics.

Nicole has received special recognition by the Association for Korean Asian Medicine and Acupuncture of California, National Alliance of Korean Oriental Medicine and acupuncture of USA for her seminar entitled: “Detoxifying Therapy of Asian Medicine and Acupuncture.”

Dr. HannaDr. Sandra Hanna, D.C., LAc.

Dr. Hanna’s love for her work and her patients is evident in her caring, tender touch. She understands the hesitation and uncertainty of first-timers and impresses them with the gentleness of her chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Hanna soothes the nerves of even her most fearful patients and gives them the full benefit of her years of study and her extensive experience.

As a native to Laguna Niguel, CA, Dr. Hanna earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and completed studies in Chemistry and Psychology at the University of San Diego. She graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences with a Doctorate in Chiropractic and completed a Masters in Oriental Medicine. She is also a Reiki Master and Yoga instructor. She is certified in Applied Kinesiology and is licensed in the state of California. Dr. Stephany Tritt

Stephany Tritt, PT, DPT has her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and has been practicing for over ten years, specializing in Pain Management and Pelvic Floor/Women’s Health.  She has treated patients with complicated diagnoses such as Fibromyalgia and Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome to Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Pain.   She enjoys helping her patients find natural, non-medicinal methods to improve their limitations to have a more fulfilling, productive life.  Success to Stephany is defined by restoring her patient’s confidence in their ability to manage their symptoms independently and naturally.

For most of her career, Dr. Tritt has been lecturing or teaching courses to Physical Therapy students about Chronic Pain as well as teaching Spanish so they may better communicate with Spanish speaking patients.

Dr. Tritt is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Section on Women’s Health.  She understands that continuing education is imperative and therefore regularly attends courses to expand her knowledge base.  She continuously seeks interventions supported by research to encourage her patients to become self-reliant in resolving their physical conditions organically.

Stephany also enjoys spending time with her growing family, traveling, and exercising.

Michael Funk

Michael Funk

Michael Funk, 57, has been involved with promoting and distributing organic foods for over 35 years. As one of the key pioneers of the natural food industry, he founded Mountain Peoples Warehouse in 1976 and built his company into the leading natural food wholesaler in the Western region. In 1996, he co-founded and took public United Natural Foods (Nasdaq: UNFI) to form a natural food distributor that he led to become the largest in the world.

As President and CEO of UNFI, Funk grew the company at an average growth rate of 20% per year, and he stepped down as CEO in 2008. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for UNFI and remains active in the strategic management of the company. UNFI currently has annual sales of 5 billion dollars.

Michael Funk is a board member of numerous non-profit groups, including serving as Board President of The Non-Gmo Project. Funk co-founded and serves as a director of The Organic Center, a non-profit dedicated to scientific research on organic food. In early 2010, Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture, selected Funk to represent the organic and non-gmo perspective on the USDA’s Advisory Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture.

Funk lives with his family in a solar-powered home along the Yuba River, in Nevada City, California. As past President of Syrcl, the South Yuba River Citizen’s League, he continues to be active in the restoration of native salmon runs to the Yuba River. The Organic Trade Association recently recognized Funk by awarding him their highest honor, The 2011 Leadership Award for Growing the Organic Industry.

Susan Blake Davis, CCN, Pet Nutritionist

With her wealth of knowledge and compassion for animals, Susan Blake Davis, Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) will help you discover new insights into holistic pet care. Susan can provide you with a unique and new perspective that will complement the care you are receiving from your veterinarian. She is on staff at VCA Arroyo Animal Hospital in Lake Forest, CA and works in conjunction with many veterinarians, in particular oncologists at VCA All Care and the Veterinary Cancer Group.

Susan is a strong advocate of using whole, natural foods to nourish and strengthen a pet’s overall health. She will develop a custom-tailored diet for each pet rather than giving a “canned” recipe as every pet’s condition is a little bit different.

Prior to becoming a pet nutritionist, Susan gained valuable experience volunteering her time in animal rescue. She is the founder of Ariel Rescue, a 501(c) (3) public charity dedicated to saving the lives of shelter dogs in impoverished communities. Many of these animals were severely malnourished and sick but Susan saw their potential, and working with local veterinarians, restored them to good health. She saw the power of nutritious foods, holistic pet care and the benefit of natural supplements in their healing.

Susan Davis graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with highest honors from the University of California at Davis. She then went on to attain a Master’s Degree in Social Psychology and an MBA from UCLA. Her passion for holistic medicine led her to become a Pet Nutritionist. Susan’s accomplishments have been featured on CBS News, Dog Fancy Magazine, CNN, in the Orange County Register and Women’s World Magazine.

Currently, Susan is on staff at VCA Arroyo Animal Hospital and works in conjunction with veterinarians nationwide. While Susan is not a veterinarian and cannot diagnose illnesses or prescribe medications, she does work in conjunction with Dr. David Gordon, holistic veterinarian. Together, they offer combination appointments where your pet can receive the very best in conventional and holistic care including an examination, review of medical records, diet and supplement recommendations.
